PURCHASING OFFICE CLERK

Job Description

The Purchasing Clerk, based in Fiorano Modenese, holds a full-time, on-site position and is responsible for the operational management of the company’s procurement process. On a day-to-day basis, the role involves gathering internal requirements, requesting and comparing supplier quotes, and preparing purchase orders in accordance with established procedures. The Purchasing Clerk monitors delivery times, costs, and the quality of materials, handles any non-conformities, and keeps the supplier database up to date. They collaborate with production, logistics, and administration to ensure continuity of supply, optimize inventory, and stay within budget. Attention to detail, the ability to analyze purchasing data, and proficiency with key IT and management tools are required.

Qualifications

  • The candidate must have expertise in purchase management and purchasing, with experience managing the entire procurement cycle.
  • Negotiation skills are required, including handling negotiations regarding prices, supply terms, and delivery times.
  • The individual must be able to accurately manage purchase orders, from system entry and monitoring through to closure.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to analyze purchasing data, compare offers, and support decisions based on performance indicators.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a diploma or degree in economics or a technical field, a good knowledge of Excel and business management software, the ability to work in a team, organizational skills, attention to detail, and a results-oriented approach.

Job Description

The selected candidate will join the Electrical Engineering Department to work on the development and design of schematics, control panels, and systems for industrial automation. The candidate will be responsible for preparing bills of materials and project documentation, and will provide direct technical support during the installation, commissioning, and testing phases. The role involves close interdisciplinary collaboration with internal departments (mechanical, software, production) and external suppliers to ensure quality and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience and Education: At least 2–3 years of experience in industrial electrical design and a technical diploma in electrical, electronic, or electrical engineering; experience in the packaging or automation industry is preferred.
  • Technical and Software Skills: Excellent proficiency in EPLAN or SPAC and CAD software for technical drafting, as well as the ability to fully read and interpret electrical schematics and documentation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical components, automation panels, sensors, drives, and safety devices.
  • Soft skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work in a team, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Language and logistical requirements: Proficiency in English and availability to work full-time on-site at the Fiorano Modenese office.
