OCTOPUS is Ercopac’s anthropomorphic or delta robot for layer preparation: it receives products from the line, arranges them according to the defined pattern, and builds the complete layer ready for the palletizer.

Available in two configurations: OCTOPUS (anthropomorphic robot with 5-axis arm) and OCTOPUS DELTA (high-performance delta robot).

01 It forms the layer

OCTOPUS is Ercopac’s anthropomorphic or delta robot designed for layer-forming in palletizing lines.

02 It arranges the transfer

The system operates in the phase immediately preceding palletizing: it receives products coming off the line, arranges them according to the pallet layout, and prepares the complete layer for transfer.

03 Ensures quality

This is a critical phase because it determines the quality of the layer, the final stability of the pallet, and the overall speed of the line.

Anthropomorphic OCTOPUS: precision and flexibility

The anthropomorphic version of OCTOPUS is equipped with a 5-axis arm that ensures repeatable movements over time with excellent acceleration. Thanks to its ergonomic design and minimal footprint, it is ideal for compact cells and facilities where space is limited.

The anthropomorphic version is the ideal choice when simplifying the production line compared to traditional mechanical systems: it is easily reconfigurable, less constrained by a single format, and suitable for both new installations and plant retrofits of existing systems.

OCTOPUS DELTA was developed by Ercopac in collaboration with Zodiac Robotics to address a specific challenge: combining high speed and high payload capacity, two aspects that are typically incompatible in traditional robots.

Maximum operating speed

Up to 50 cycles per minute handling 3 to 4 bundles: OCTOPUS DELTA is capable of handling the production load of two equivalent anthropomorphic robots.

Gantry structure

The robot is installed above the handling area, leaving the floor workspace completely unobstructed. Thanks to precise control of product positioning on the conveyor belt, handling is extremely accurate.

Precision and stability

Designed to minimize oscillations, with smooth and safe movements. Wrist payload from 30 to 70 kg.

Simplified maintenance

The integration of electrical and pneumatic connections reduces downtime and allows for quick interventions when necessary.
