What does SPIDER-S do

01 It wraps automatically

SPIDER-S is the entry-level column-type wrapping machine in the Spider range: a press-free configuration designed for low- and medium-speed lines that require simple, reliable, and efficient automatic wrapping.

02 It ensures savings

The system is part of the same modular range as SPIDER-C and SPIDER-R: most spare parts are shared across all models, offering significant advantages in terms of operating costs and service speed.

03 It doesn't include a press

Unlike SPIDER-C, SPIDER-S does not include a press: it is the ideal solution for loads that are already sufficiently stable, where vertical control of the pallet top is not required during wrapping.

04 It offers an alternative

For higher production rates or loads requiring vertical stabilization, Ercopac offers SPIDER-C, up to SPIDER-R with an anthropomorphic robot for high-speed lines.

Types of Wrapping and Applications

SPIDER-S handles the main wrapping modes: side wrapping and dust-proof wrapping. It is suitable for products with good inherent compactness, where standard wrapping ensures sufficient stability and protection.

The system is suitable for bottles, cartons, cans, boxes, and other products packaged in cartons, bundles, bags, trays, and other packaging compatible with the system configuration.

SPIDER-S achieves a production capacity of up to 60–80 pallets per hour, depending on the configuration. It is the flagship solution in the range for low- and medium-speed lines.

Load Stability and 750 mm Reel

The 750 mm reel is one of the distinctive features of the SPIDER range: it ensures optimized film distribution over the product, guaranteeing secure anchoring and load stability even without the presser bar. Compared to standard reels, it allows for a 10–20% reduction in side film usage, contributing to a lower environmental impact.

The bottom strap is standard across the entire Spider range: essential for securing the film to the pallet, it ensures product stability and wrapping quality under all operating conditions.

Wrapping Head and Drive System

The SPIDER-S winding head handles reels ranging from 500 to 750 mm in height and weighing 24 to 60 kg, ensuring a long operating cycle between changes. The housing with a transparent cover allows the condition of the belts to be checked without disassembly.

Power is transmitted via a high-strength toothed belt: no gearbox, no periodic maintenance, and a motor inside the head for an optimized footprint. The rotating table with toothed belt drive ensures fast diagonal movements, a compact layout, and constant production speed. All motors are located at the bottom of the machine: full accessibility for maintenance and cleaning without platforms or mezzanines.
