What does DRAGONFLY do

01 Layer forming

DRAGONFLY is the Ercopac automatic palletizer designed for the automatic formation of complete pallets by handling entire layers of product.

02 Ensuring stability

The system picks up the layer from the line, compacts it with precision, and places it on the pallet, ensuring high load stability, layer uniformity, and maximum production speed.

03 Precise placing

Unlike single-grip systems such as LYNX, DRAGONFLY handles compact loads in a single operation: the challenge is not gripping the individual product, but precisely controlling the entire layer until it is set down.

The motorized gripper: layer control from pickup to placement

At the heart of DRAGONFLY is the high-precision motorized gripper, designed to maintain the layer’s squareness, alignment, and compactness throughout the entire handling process. The gripper integrates three dedicated motors:

Opening and closing of the fork gripper, controlled as an additional axis by the robot controller
Two side walls for squaring and containing the product, managed as additional axes

This architecture overcomes the limitations of traditional layer palletizing: deformation of gripping elements under high loads, loss of layer geometry during transfer, and difficulties with unstable products. With DRAGONFLY, the layer is already perfectly formed before it even touches the pallet.

The motorized gripper with side containment ensures precision and uniformity prior to placement, reducing manual intervention and increasing overall speed.

Beverage Gripper

Maximum load 250 kg. Designed for bundles, cartons, and heavy products in the beverage industry. High-strength carbon fiber grippers ensure long-term reliability.

Tissue Gripper

Maximum load 70 kg. Optimized for light and bulky products in the tissue industry, with gentle and precise handling.

Tubes Gripper

For palletizing empty glass bottles. Ensures stable and precise handling using an elastic belt.

Bells Gripper

For palletizing large bottles. It achieves a throughput of up to 4,800 bottles per hour with high precision.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL JOLLY GRIPPER

The multifunction Jolly gripper (patent pending) is available for lines with stacked pallets: with a single motion, it positions the sheet, picks up the empty pallet, and prepares the stacked pallet, reducing the line’s footprint and increasing cycle efficiency.

INTERLAYER PLACING ROBOT
